Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Golden Wonder has made a crunch decision to change the distribution of its crisps and snacks to its 180 van salesmen throughout the country.

The company has agreed a three-year £1.3 million-a-year contract with NCCS, under which the NFC subsidiary will take control of the warehousing, order processing, trunking and loading of all goods sold by the van salesmen.

Golden Wonder expects the contract will enable it to hold less stock and close its eight satellite warehouses. There will also be a gain for the mobile salesmen since NCCS will load their vehicles overnight giving them all day to sell their wares.

NCCS will keep track of how much stock is required through an Opus computer system. The company will trunk the stock using ten 24-tonne Scania drawbars running from its Lutterworth warehouse to 50 NFC locations around the country where the sales vans will be loaded.

Golden Wonder previously supplied its sales vans through seven separate contractors, with each of the salesmen loading stock themselves from regional warehouses.
