to install a tali-lift, but this means moving the number plate. Is there any legal reason why this should not be positioned at the top rear of the vehicle?
AAlthough Regulation 17 of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 1971 makes provision for the size, shape and character of the registration mark, there is nothing in these Regulations to restrict the positioning of this. Therefore, as long as the rear number plate is easily seen and illuminated at night, there is no reason why you should not position it wherever you wish.
