I am writing with reference to your article "At your service" in October 1 issue of CM. One of Brian Booker's views on the Bedford TK 1630 was that "for the radiator and water pump the cab would have to come off." However, this statement is incorrect.
I work for a main Bedford dealer as a commercial mechanic, and I have completed this job myself on a TK 1630 in about 21/2 hours, by removing the radiator and water pump from underneath, without any need to lift off the cab. In fact, 21/2 hours is the standard time set by Vauxhall Motors for this job.
I hope Brian Booker will allow me to correct him on this point, which I felt to be an unfair criticism of the Bedford TK.
