It hadn't been a very good week last week. No nice phone calls, no pats on the back, miserable weather and the fact that Social Contract was still in operation, added to the fact that someone had bounced one of my cheques. Praise for guys like Bob South, transport manager of Aerosol Products of Portsmouth.

Every Tuesday, Bob lectures to transport managers in the South of England and when it comes to the question of costings they all want to know of an efficient yet simple system to balance the books. Bob tells them: "What you need is Commercial Motor's article "Costing for Maximum Pof its". Apparently since we published it in 1972 Bob has built his own system from our base and it has stood the scrutiny and detailed examination of his parent company's finance men at Cope Allman.

So impressed has Bob been that we're now providing his students with copies of the article.

However, we don't claim all the credit at CM. Whereas in many adult education classes they built-in a 10 pc factor for wastage, Bob's class has increased in numbers this year.
