CARRYFAST, recently acquired by Unilever, have appointed Mr R. G. Hazeldine and Mr G. M. Oldroyd to their board. Mr I. W. Harrison is appointed managing director.

Mr Hazeldine is the company's finance and administration manager and Mr Oldroyd is Northern regional manager.

Also joining the Carryfast board are three SPD directors, Mr I. G. Daniel, Mr J. A. Harvey, and Mr S. Gould. Mr M. P. Rathbone has resigned as the company's chairman and managing director.

Eastern Airlift, the air parcels service started by Eastern BRS earlier in the year has appointed its first commercial manager. Kyran Connolly, a 30-year-old qualified pilot will be operating from Nottingham Airport.

Mr Connolly has worked in all aspects of airline administration with Aer Lingus, Olympic Airways and Invicta Airways but he joins Eastern Airlift from Flying Enterprises at Luton.

The company was formed to give a service flying both cargo and passengers in three Partinavia aircraft to destinations all over Britain and Europe. David Basey is the new manager of the Boston branch of Eastern BRS. He is a qualified HGV driver who began as a traffic clerk with Tate and Lyle and worked as an assistant manager with Econofreight before joining the National Freight Corporation.

He has also worked with Pickfords in Britain and Germany but he was schooled in the BRS management development course. Mr Basey, 30, is interested in music, motor racing and historical commercial vehicles.

Former model Sue GordonBaker is the manager of National Travel's new office at Clifton, near Bristol. The new office was officially opened by National Travel's general manager for the South West, Ken Wellman on Monday.

The Confederation of British Passenger Transport has appointed Stewart Brown as their public relations and research officer. He will work from the CPT head office at Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.

Mr Brown has been operating superintendent of a bus company in South Africa and had experience with municipal operators in UK and Africa.

New managing director of Perkins Engines is Michael Hoffman. He moves from Associated Engineering where he was director of operations of the turbine components division.

Mr Hoffman is an honours graduate and spent nine years with the Motor Car Division of Rolls Royce. He is also a member of the Institutes of Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineers.

Jonas Woodhead, springs and suspension makers has appointed Tom Richardson to the board of their holding company; he is already a member of the board of the operating company.
