New Consett Bas Arrangements: After three years, Consett (Co. Durham) Urban Council has won its campaign to stop buses entering the town setting down passengers in the town centre. In future the buses will unload only at the bus station. The Council claimed that unloading in the town centre caused congestion and increased the possibility of accidents, Better Year for TRTB: During the year ending on March 31 last there was a gross surplus of £31,005 on the working of the Tees-side Railless Traction Board, Middlesbrough. This was an improvement of £11,192 on the previous year. Passengers carried totalled 10,636,193, an increase of 191,986, whilst revenue rose by £20,861. Traffic receipts were £212,924.

Duple (Northern) Services : In future the emergency night service of Duple Motor Bodies (Northern) Ltd., Blackpool, will be the responsibility of Mr. D. G. Hickman at Poulton-le-Fylde 4615. During normal working hours the service will be available as usual from Blackpool 62251.

Leyland Panthers for Manchester : Manchester City Transport has ordered 30 Leyland Panthers to be fitted with frontentrance, central-exit bodies by MetropolitanCammell-Weymann Ltd. The buses generally will be similar to the 20 Panther Cubs already in service, apart from the increased length and a wider exit. The seating capacity has been provisionally fixed at 45, although it may be increased later.

Panther Cubs for Portsmouth : Portsmouth Corporation transport committee has accepted a tender from Leyland Motors Ltd. for 12 Panther Cub rear-underfloor-engined chassis at a cost of £2,634 each, less an allowance of £108 to be recovered from the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co.

Berkshire Travel Difficulties: Villagers in the Bray and Paley Street area of Maidenhead, Berks, who rely upon public transport to getto Maidenhead. anticipate travel difficulties as a result of the imminent discontinuance of the bus service provided by Bray Transport Ltd. It was hoped that Thames Valley Traction Co. Ltd. would take over the service, but the company will operate only on a route between Moneyrow Green (Holyport) and Maidenhead. Maidenhead Council works committee will support Bray Parish Council in its request to Thames Valley to include Bray and Paley Street in their services to Maidenhead.
