Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS glad to see that George Ewer 1 and Co., the London coach operators, had been sucessful in their plan to provide a new direct express service between Ipswich and Saxhorn, avoiding London. Ewer and Associated Motorways have also applied to the Eastern Traffic Commissioners to provide new express services from Felixstowe to Cheltenham linking with the complex services run by Associated Motorways from Cheltenham. Opposition to the Ewer application is reported from Associated Motorways, Eastern National Omnibus Co. and Eastern Counties Omnibus Co.; the application of Associated Motorways has not yet been published.

Coach-sea holidays provide another welcome example of the commercial virtues of co-operation. An express coach service between Lancashire and Southampton will be run next year by Smith's Tours (Wigan) in connection with coachsea holidays to European centres. At Southampton the tours will link with Thoresen Car Ferries cross-Channel sailings. paralleling the Smith's service between Lancashire and Dover to connect with Channel crossings. A nine-day tour of the Isle of Wight and Torquay is another Smith's facility recently granted by the North Western Traffic Commissioners.
