Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE first 28-ton-gross outfit fitted with Byron Bulkveyor equipment is the artic seen above, operated by Christopher Hill Ltd., which is the first of three such vehicles.

The Seddon tractive unit hauls a Boden-chassis semitrailer with a payload of 18 tons of barley. It is used mainly in grain collection from farms, picking up at a rate of nearly 40 tons/hr. and discharging at 30 tons/hr.

Bulk Hopper Carries Grain

A HOPPER semi-trailer built by Charrold Ltd. for Bass,

Rateliff and Gretton Ltd., of Burton-on-Trent, meets a special requirement for discharge into a single ground-level opening. This has been achieved by using hydraulically actuated hopper doors which, when open, extend the chines to within a few inches of the ground.

As seen on the right, the semi-trailer has twin-oscillatingaxle running gear. The body is built in Car-ten steel, but with a light-alloy top section which carries a catwalk and three loading hatches.

The cubic capacity is 1,080 Cu. ft. and when operating at 24 tons g.t.w. the payload is 15 tons. The outfit is used to carry malt and grain in bulk.
