L151 8, published on Wednesday, contains the biggest .selection of • transport units and vehicles 'ever offered by the British Transport Commission. With an average of about two vehicles per unit, it is _ designed entirely for the small man. It contains 3,168 operational vehicles, 67 spare vehicles, 84 trailers and 13 additional trailers divided among 1,482 units.

South-western, 219 units; 554 vehicles; 15 trailers. Western, 85 units; 203 vehicles; 12 trailers. Easter n, 106 units; 230 vehicles; 6 trailers. Special Traffics, 52 units; '78 vehicles, Spare vehicles and trailers are offered in addition in all

divisions except the Special Traffics.

All but 20 of the units consist of vehicles Only. The only big mills are at Southampton (32 vehicles, including six-wheelers and eight-wheelers), Southsea (27 vehicles, including six-wheelers and articulated outfits), Droitwich (28 vehicles, including six-wheelers and eight-wheelers), and Fordham, Ely (30 vehicles, including eight-wheelers).

Nearly all the units in list 8 have been offered in earlier lists. • There is a fair mixture of,, light and heavy vehicles. Some of the units are drawn from B.R.S. Parcels Services or contain vehicles suitable for carrying parcels traffic.

VEHICLE LOST: STRUCK OFF LICENCE

AN applicant for an extension of radius of his B licence told the Northern Licensing Authority on Monday that, although he was authorized to run three vehicles, one had been lost' in a fire 18 months ago.

• The Authority granted a variation in respect of two vehicles, but told the applicant, Mr. B. Walton, of Evenwood, Co. Durham, that he could apply later for a third vehicle. The third vehicle was deleted, as it had ceased to be used because of a reasdn "other than a fluctuation in trade."
