An Historical Review of McNamara's.

An interesting little booklet reviewing the history of McNamara and Co. (1921), Ltd., has been issued to mark the company's centenary. It is an excellent souvenir of a wonderful record of progress, during the whole of which period the company has been engaged in carrying large quantities of mails for the Post Office. Although mail-carrying is only a part of its work, it still has to provide for the carrying of 900,000 separate mail services a year, involving a mileage of 3,250,000, whilst the total staff is over 1,200.

The record 'covers 60 pages and is well worth reading.

700 Guests at Henley Dinner.

On October 30, Henley's Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., held a most successful staff dinner and dance, which was attended by 700 people.

Speeches, some humorous, some serious, were made by members of the Board, but that which mostly concerned the commercial-motor industry was delivered by Mr. Gibbs. This speaker stressed the fact that owing to the skilful guidance of the directors, the parent company, W. T. Henley's Cable and Telegraph Works, Ltd., was in a stronger position now than it had ever been before, but that, so far as Henley's Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., was concerned, they were experiencing as many difficulties as, he understood, were other tyre manufacturers.

. Mr. Gibbs, however, was confident that with skilful direction and organization, these obstacles would be overcome, and that Henley's Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., would be one of the soundest in the industry.
