ESTATE vehicles are rapidly becoming popular in this country, and many makers are producing standard models. One of the smartest is that marketed by Renault, Ltd.

As a passenger vehicle, it provides comfortable seating for seven people, whilst all the seats are removable, leaving floor space for 10 cwt. of goods. The windows provide complete weather protection when lowered, but slide easily into the roof when not required. Another machine based upon the 12.1 h.p. chassis is a smart 10 cwt. van.

• Engines of 17.9 h.p. are incorporated in four other vehicles on view—a 15cwt. van, an ambulance, a 35-45-cwt. drop-sided lorry, and a 35-40-cwt. van. Three-point suspension, with flexible rubber mountings and stabilizing adjustment, is provided for the 2.384litre four-cylindered side-valve engine. Ignition is by a six-volt coil and distributor, with automatic advance and retard, supplemented by an additional hand control on the facia board. Three forward speeds and a reverse ratio are afforded by the unit-constructed gearbox, which has synchromesh engagement for the second ratio.

The exhibit will be completed by a 6-ton chassis carrying a cab,--Itenault, Ltd., Western Avenue, London, W,.3.
