Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Stand So HERE is shown, for the first time, the new 26-seater in chassis form and equipped with a Duple coach body. The generous dimensions of the chassis are reflected in the ample and comfortable accommodation provided for the passengers, all facing forward. By dropping the frame at the rear it has been possible to provide for a large luggage locker coming beneath the rear seats. Off-setting the transmission line permits of .a low floor, thus keeping the overall height down to a minimum with increased stability.

This machine is fitted with a sixcylindered engine having a bore of 85.72 mm. and a stroke of 103,18 mm., the piston-swept volume thus being 3,569.3 c.c. At 3,000 r.p.m. the unit develops 73 b.h.pā€ž whilst the normal rating is 27,34 h.p, Two 2-tonners are shown, one as a telescopic tipper and the other as a lorry with normal control.

Of the two 3-tonners one is shown with a B. and E. tipper, and the other with a van body. Additionally, there is a 4-ton lorry and two 5-tonners, one of the latter being shown in chassis form and the other as an hydraulic tipper. The exhibit is completed with two vans of I5-cwt. and 1-ton capacities.

Respecting the 2, 3, 4 and 5-ton Dodge vehicles, these have been redesigned for 1938. Frames, springs and axles have been altered with a view to providing a higher factor of safety under increased maximum gross-load conditions. A feature of great interest attaching to these models is the fitting of the new Lockheed hydraulic braking system, in which the slotted-type shoes are used. Brake facings, providing 2,5 per cent, greater area, in conjunctior with this new system, give 30 per cent. increased braking efficiency.

Improved frontal appearance is particularly noticeable, and this has been achieved by employing a deeper radiator shell independently mounted, newtype wings, which merge into the bumper, and a lower cab and bonnet. The lamps, too, are now mounted on the radiator shell, making for simplified wiring and adjustment.

It is noticed on the 5-ton hydraulic tipper that special tipper hinge brackets are now cast integral with the spring brackets, and that a modification has been introduced in order to accommodate a tipping gear attachment; this is in the form of a crossmember which has been added immediately behind the cab to carry the ram or lifting gear. ā€” Dodge Brothers (Britain), Ltd., Mortlake Road, Kew Gardens, Surrey.
