Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• United Transport UK's 230 chemical and foodstuff delivery drivers has accepted a 5.9% increase on basic pay.

Last week's settlement will increase the tanker drivers' basic pay from £151 to £160 for a 40-hour week. However, the Transport 8z General Workers Union says productivity pay has been tightened so its driver members will have to "do a bit more for the same money."

The increase, reached after about six weeks of negotiations between the BET subsidiary and the TGWU, gives the drivers £4an-hour.
