• An all-British 44-tonne intermodal drawbar demonstrator with Foden prime mover, King Trailers trailer, Southfields bodywork and Ray Smith demountable equipment will make its debut at the IRTE show at Telford next week.
• York's Teamster monocoque aluminium tipping trailer range has made its debut at the TipCon Show in Harrogate (see pages 2428) as predicted in CM 1420 April. The 42m3 triaxle on show, built on a York chassis, tares out at 6.1 tonnes with Hyva tip gear, allowing a payload potential of 25 tonnes.
• Seddon Atkinson is to develop a lightweight version of its new Strato 6x4 tipper with a revised version of the T5 Strato 17-tonner cab and a Cummins C Series engine in place of the 16 six-wheeler's 110 Cummins and EuroTech cab.
• The CM/Scania Keep It Legal series continues next week with a six-page pullout guide to vehicle weights and dimensions including information on regulations covering 44 tonne intermodal operations.
• Bus manufacturer Optare has taken delivery of a prototype .2.2m swap body from European Intermodal Products for transporting one-piece bus roofs built in Switzerland to Optare's Leeds plant. The swap bodies operate on air-sprung skeletal chassis semi-trailers.
