• Carlisle city council is submitting to the Association of Municipal Corporations complaints that recent applications by Ribble Motor Services for higher bus fares were misleading. A city councillor first drew attention to the matter, alleging that more fares were raised than had been expected. The Association has been asked for its views and in the meantime, the council has made a holding objection to the decision of the Traffic Commissioners allowing the increases.
