NIGHTLY use of Freightliner services from Manchester to Glasgow is being made by Kay, Goodfellow and Co. Ltd., of Queen Street, Manchester 11. And Mr. D. Goodfellow told COMMERcIAL MOTOR on Wednesday that the traffic has been building up satisfactorily.
Their Manchester vehicles take containers to BR's Longsight terminal in the afternoon and their Scottish units collect at Glasgow first thing the following morning. Further expansion of the service there is contemplated and when the Freightliner system is operative at Birmingham, where the company has a small depot, the intention is to offer similar facilities there.
The company operates a fleet of about • 30 vehicles under A and Contract A licences at Manchester. It also has an extensive plant and crane hiring business.
