M. L G. BuRLEIGH, transport officer of ICJ., Ltd., and Ma. A.. L. STOCK, a director of Lodge Plugs, Ltd., have been elected members of the council of the London Chamber of Commerce.
MR. J. M. Akatavn, Leyland Scottish manager, has been appointed assistant service manager. He joined Leyland Motors, Ltd.. as a student engineer, and was, until 194.8, personal assistant to the home sales ntanager.
MR. WILLIAM MCFARLANE has resigned from the position of secretary of Albion Motors, Ltd., Glasgow, which he has held for 35 years. MR. J. E. CAMPBELL, accountant of the company, has been appointed secretary. Mr. McFarlane retains his seat on the board.
MR. H. W. ROLLINGS has resigned his position of tours manager of Hants and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd. (owned by the British Transport Commission), because of a disagreement on policy. He has been appointed general manager of Shamrock and Rambler Motor Coaches, . Ltd., Bournemouth.
Ma. FRANK F. FOWLER has been elected chairman of the Road Haulage Association in succession to MR. B. G. TURNER. MR. R. H. FARMER and Ma. R. G. CROWTHER have becomenew vice-chairmen. Ma. JOHN STRANG and MR. B. WINTERBOTTOM have also been re-elected vice-chairmen.

JOHNSON, development engineer, all of Hepworth and Grandage, Ltd., Bradford, have left for the U.S.A. to study American methods of production. MR. WEAVER, chairman and managing director of the Coventry Victor Motor Co., Ltd., is leaving shortly for a business trip to Canada, accompanied by his son, MR. A. N. WEAVER, technical sales director of the concern, who will be in charge of the Coventry Victor stand at the Canadian Trade Fair, Toronto.
Ma. E. O. SCHJOLIN has been appointed chief engineer of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., and will be respon
sible for all design engineering. He has had wide experience in design engineering in the motor industry in Britain, Sweden and America and was concerned with the design and development of the Swedish Volvo vehicle.
MR. EDWARD PLAYER, managing director of Birrnid Industries, Ltd., has been elected president of the Aluminium Development Association in succession to MR. KENNETH HALL. MR. E. Ausritsr REYNOLDS, of T.I. Aluminium, Ltd., has been elected vice-president, arid MR. F. G. WOOLLARD has been v-elected -chairman of the executive comniittee for a further year.
