THE new regulations which allow larger buses to be used if registered for the first time on or after June I, come into operation on May 15. They • are the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations, 1950, and the Public Service Vehicles (Condition of Fitness) (Amendment) Regulations. 1950. They permit fourwheeled double-deckers to be built to a length of 27 ft. and four-wheeled single
deckers to 30 ft.
A vehicle up to 27 ft. long must be able to turn in a circle of 60-ft. diameter Both regulations provide a different method of calculating overall length and overall width.
