Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• RDS Technology of Naiisworth, Glos hos adapted its Skiplog onboard weighing system for use on rear-end loaders.

Hauliers of low-density waste such as cardboard face problems with hidden contamination of skips. The presence of any higher density material within the cardboard causes problems in the recycling process and can lead to unintentional overloading. The Skiplog is able to confirm the gross or net weight of up to live skip types. By warning of a higher-thanexpected weight it will enable the operator to investigate the cause before the contents are transferred to the vehicle.

Weights are displayed on an LCD screen to an accuracy of +/-2%; the UKbuilt system costs £1,500 (ex-VAT) installed.
