Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Some workshops have reported problems with Wabco ABS systems when recalibrating tachographs. When the rear wheels are spun with the front wheels stationary the ABS or ASR lamps have been coming on and ECUs have been storing fault codes.

To avoid this Wabco recommends that the ECU is disconnected before starting the re-calibration.

To do this find the ECU — normally next to the fuse board or under the dash — and with the ignition off push the catch down and pull out the multi pin plug.

After re-calibration reconnect the ECU, with the ignition off.

If a fault is recorded on an ERF with Wabco ABS during re-calibration Wabco advises that it should be ignored until the job is completed.

To clear the fault code turn the ignition on followed by the blink code switch (refer to drivers handbook/maintenance manual).

The ABSIASR light will start dashing the blink code, but before it has finished the blink code switch should be turned off. Allow the ABS/ASR light to finish blinking before turning the ignition off, When it is turned on again the memory will be clear of recorded faults.
