Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ROBSONDRIVE, the Swedish device to temporarily convert a 6x2 into a 6x4, is to be made generally available in the UK.

Swedish manufacturer Zetterbergs has appointed the Kettering-based John R. Billows Group as sole UK concessionaire to be responsible for sales, servicing and installation.

Widely-used in Sweden, Robsondrive can give extra traction. for short periods such as a site delivery or when snowbound. An electro-hydraulic power pack lowers a toothed wheel to engage in the tyre treads between the driven and trailing axle, thus converting a 6x2 into a 6x4. It is not intended for prolonged use or high speeds.

In the UK, Robsondrive will cost approximately £1,500 plus £180 fitting. The range of fitments is currently limited to Volvo, Scania and Daf but the Billows Group says that there will be further development for UK vehicles if the demand warrants it.

The company envisages Robsondrive having applications on tippers or forestry vehicles where only an occasional offroad ability is needed and claims that it is a cheaper and lighter alternative to permanent 6x4 drive.
