JOHN WEDGWOOD has been named president-elect of the Electric Vehicle Association.
He will take over presidency from Lord Ironside, who continues in an advisory role as past president. The election will take place formally at the Association's annual general meeting on May 20.
Mr Wedgwood is the chairman of Southern Electricity and uses more than 50 electric vehicles in his fleet.
As president of EVA he will be promoting the advanced electric road vehicle as a viable form of modern transport.
