GEORGE SIMPSON is to become the new managing director of Freight Rover, part of the Land Rover-Leyland Group, on April 1.

He takes over from Tony Gilroy, who is now Land Rover managing director, and pro temps Freight Rover managing director.

Mr Simpson moves to Freight Rover from Coventry Climax, a BL subsidiary until its sale in 1981.
