THE " 300 " series wheel alignment systems made by this firm can be installed at sub-level check and correction bays—as Model KWA322—or as floor-flush wheel alignment bays, Model KWA324. A full wheel alignment check can be carried out with the unit, which consists of a pair of fully floating turning-radius gauges, two instantaneous reading portable wheelalignment indicators, and two Universal three-way alignment gauges.
The KWA324 unit is designed for use where excavation is impossible, where space is at a premium, or where checking is to he incorporated as a flowline technique. This unit features finger-tip adjusted racks and includes a full set of checking tools. Recommended bay area for this unit is 8 ft. wide by 26 ft. long. Lateral adjustment is between 3 ft. and 6 ft, The platforms are 1 ft. 3 in. wide, overall length of the racks is 5 ft. 3 in., and load capacity of the unit is If tons.
A sub-level outfit permitting the operator to work in an upright position for checking and correcting work is the KWA322. It is supplied complete with two support pedestals which are installed in a prepared sub-level area. Shelves are included in each pedestal to house technical data sheets and tools and an interchangeable clip-on platform is also supplied to permit free access to the vehicle. This unit is installed in a workshop bay or about 12 ft. 6 in. wide by 26 ft. long; lateral adjustment is between 3 ft. and 6 ft. Platforms are 1 ft. 3 in. wide and overall length of the racks, which stand 3 ft. 6 in. from ground level, is 5 ft. 3 in, The Kismet KWA331 three-way alignment gauge gives accurate, automatic checking of camber in two operations and also measures castor and king-pin angles. It is a compact, light unit which, the makers claim, is easily used with low valances. Spirit levels are built into the adjusting cradles. The gauge is easily secured by a spindle nut clamp.
Kismet makes a portable wheel alignment indicator, Model KWA332, which can be
used on any level floor. The Ili-in.-wide treadplatc is mounted on non-friction rollerbearings. With this gauge a zero reading should be rccorded if the whTels are correctly aligned and a pointer records on a clear dial the amount of toe-in or toe-out. Ovendl size of this unit is 3 ft. 31 in. by 1 ft. 2-1 in. by I in; it weights 52 1h.
The turning radius gauge—KWA334— made by Kismet is designed to measure turning-radius angle, castor and king-pin angles (in conjunction with KWA331) and checking full lock on vehicles with independent front suspension or front-wheel drive. Ramps now available for use with these turning-radius gauges are KWA335-long (for rear wheels) and KWA336-short (for front wheels). When turning-radius gauges are used at floor level, these ramps should always be used. Capacity of the KWA334 turning. radius gauge is If tons front axle load. Dimensions are 1 ft 4-1in, by I ft. 0,11 in. by if in. and the unit weighs 40 lb.
