Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

8 Chester Hall Lane, Basildon, Essex.

AWIDE range of wheel alignment and front-end correction equipment is available from this company under the trade name Replex. Units of the range are designed to work together to co-ordinate the geometrical specifications of the front-end pattern to a positive degree of accuracy.

On the firm's magnetic toe-gauge set, magnetic arms snap on and hold tightly to the machined surface of the wheel hub. The free ends of the arms are connected to a cross-tube assembly and measurements are read from a micrometer head calibrated to increments of41-4 in. Only one operator is needed to work this set. The setting of each wheel individually allows both the steering gear and wheel to be positioned in the straight-ahead direction; this is made easier by using the Replex steering wheel holder. Toe-in settings are then made at each wheel, readings being taken direct from the hub.

The Replex camber-and-castor gauge also snaps on to the machined face of the hub; when fixed in position the gauge shows the camber reading. When the wheels are turned on turntables, the castor can be read in the space of a few seconds. This compact equipment, which checks direct from the hub, is strongly made to give long service.

The turntables are strongly constructed from steel plate to enable them to carry the heaviest types of vehicle. Features are their light weight and low overall height.

The Replex king-pin inclination gauge fixes directly to the stub axle by means of a patented clamp. This is done because kingpin inclination is read off the stub axle—it cannot be read from the hub face because of the wheel rotation while turning through 40°.

Also made by Rene° is a castor-camber wrench set, claimed to be the most complete kit of its type in the world. Use of this set makes the jacking up or removal of wheels unnecessary and enables the operator to make fine 'adjustments while watching the castor-camber gauge. The firm's steeringwheel holder will quickly lock steering in any desired position and is fully adjustable for any type of car or commercial vehicle. Also featured in the Replex alignment equipment range is a camber correction kit.
