A LTHOUGH called portable spot-welding I–I-machines, the equipment in this category manufactured by Sciaky is not portable in the workshop sense of the word. The machines are primarily designed for production work with ratings of up to 90 kVa and able to be used at rates of up to 250 welds per minute. The control equipment is mounted separately from the welding transformer and the gun is suspended to reduce the effort needed by the operator.
