Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

North Feltham Trading Estate, Fehham, Middx.

AVERY 'wide range of materials used on welding processes is made by this company. These include flux-coated gas-welding rods—called EutecRods—for joining and overlaying steels, cast iron, aluminium, copper, brass and bronze by torch application which eliminate the need for manual

D8 fluxing and have a specially formulated flux coating which promotes capillary flow and reduces bonding temperature. Alloy/flux compounds for brazing and solder-type applications are also marketed; in addition there is a standard range of electrodes— named EutecTrodes—for electric-arc welding and special EutecTrodes for abrasionand-impact-resisting hard overlays.

Besides the welding materials, Eutectic Welding Alloys has developed and manufactures equipment for two special welding processes. The Eutectic Microflow process is said to be one of the world's most advanced in hard-surfacing technology. Foi this process a special oxy-acetylene torch is used, this having an attachment on the delivery tube through which alloy powders are deposited into the oxygen stream. The process provides a means of depositing a variety of new alloys with a greater control of deposition than previously obtainable. The deposit itself is said to be dense and can be deposited in fine layers from thicknesses of 0.002 in. up to 0-25 in.

The process supplements conventional welding methods with specific advantages in the improved alloys which can be deposited and with the precision and finish that can be achieved. Many parts previously thought beyond repair can be overlaid or hardsurfaced with the process and there is less deposit waste and therefore less machining time. The alloy powders will wet the base materials without the use of flux so that preparation time is reduced and the torch is operated from standard oxy-acetylene equipment; compressed air is not required as the oxygen stream propels the powder.

The second process developed by Eutectic is called the TIG-Tectic Process. This is a simplified unit designed to provide an economic addition of T1G welding to any welding shop that is equipped with metal-arc welding equipment. Existing manual arcwelding equipment is used and the process is supplied as a complete unit comprising a 200-amp. air-cooled torch, filler wires, argon gas regulator, tungsten electrodes, ceramic nozzles, gas economizer, and all accessories.
