London, E.4. THIS company is the sole distributor in 1the U.K. of Ljungmans lubricating equipment, which is of Swedish origin. A range is offered including an air-operated, high-pressure grease gun, mobile grease units and a grease pump which fits directly on to oil-company grease kegs or buckets.
The Ljungmans air-operated grease gun is the SRD-2 and is made of light alloy, so that although it has a capacity of 400 c.c. of grease the weight of the gun is only 4.5 lb. Thc container and pump unit are cylindrical and mounted on top of the handle and operating-trigger mechanism with the grease outlet at the opposite end of the container. The air-pressure connection is at the rear of the handle and the air pump gives a grease pressure 50 times that of the air-pressure input. For filling the gun there is a specially designed filling pump which fits on to standard grease kegs.
One portable and one mobile greasing unit are marketed by J. S. Webber—the portable being the 64975, which is for use with 35-113. cans, and the 43612 the mobile, which is of the usual design with a base mounted on castors for the grease keg and a cover with the pump mounted on top of it so as to clip on to the base. With both units the pressure ratio of air input to grease delivered is 50 to 1, and there is a handle on the pump unit of the portable greaser by which the unit can be carried.
For use in stationary greasing installations, such as pits, there is the Ljungmans 42960 grease pump, which is mounted in a cover, and is suitable for use with 40/50-gal. grease barrels. The pump unit is to a similar design as on the mobile greasing unit and the air-to-grease pressure ratio is again 50 to I. Completing the Ljungmans equipment applicable to vehicles is a portable oilspraying unit—Type 58487—which has a spherical container with a capacity of 0.9 gal, mounted on a tubular stand. A double hose for oil and air is fed to the outlet nozzle and there are adjustment screws for both air and oil.
