A LL types of grease gun as well as handoperated bucket pumps" are manufactured by Ch. J. Neuman, these being marketed under the name Nubrex.
In the smaller size of grease gun there is the Nubrex Mark 402, which can be operated by one hand using a side lever. This is a cartridge-loading gun, and two slim nozzles are supplied with it to enable inaccessible greasing points to be reached. Hydraulic and swivel nozzles, as well as a slide-on swivel nozzle and a flexible exten
sion, are also available, and the gun can deliver pressures at up to 5,000 p.s.i. The Nubrex Mark 401 is a similar size to the 402, but the operation is by pressing a plunger in line with the grease delivery tube. It is also a gun designed for cartridge loading and available with similar accessories to the 402.
Moving up the scale, the Nubrex Mark 603 is a side-lever gun which can be used with grease cartridges, but can also be loaded by suction, lubricant dispenser or other methods. A wide variety of couplers and flexible extensions is available, and grease is delivered at up to 7,000 p.s.i.
Of more interest to a maintenance depot will be the bucket pumps and the Nubrex Economy Lubricator. The bucket pumps can be supplied with a fixed lid—in which case the pump unit has to be removed for loading—or with a removable lid, held in place by three clips—in which case they are loaded by inserting a standard 28-lb. keg.
There are two types of pump. One is the 801 volume pump, which is suitable for all types of self-levelling lubricants and delivers about 1.25 oz. of lubricant per stroke of the handle. The other is the 802 high-pressure pump, which is suitable for most types of fibrous greases as well as self-levelling lubricants, and generates a pressure of about 10,000 p.s.i. at the delivery head. The Nubrex 803 Economy Lubricator is basically a cover and plunger-type pump which can be fastened to a 28or 40-1b. grease container. It is supplied with a hose and delivery gun and, by adding an automatic filler valve and adapter, the equipment can also be used as a filler pump for side-lever guns.
