T HE Minister of Transport is consider' ing the case that has been made by the bus industry for the relief from the extra 6d. fuel tax to be extended to certain categories of non-stage services. Mr. Fraser revealed this in the Commons on Wednesday when he was asked that the relief should be given to all operators of public service vehicles—a suggestion he turned down. He also gave an up-todate report of the progress of the relief already announced.

The Method of relief, has been agreed by a joint 'working Party of his department and the operators, said Mr. Fraser. He would put before the Commons as soon as possible the necessary measure to bring the scheme into effect.

In the meantime, the operators' -associations were being sent specimens of the instruetions, and forms for claiming relief that Would be required under the proposed scheme. Shpplies of these documents; said the Minister, would shortly be issued to all operators through the traffic area offices. ThiS action was being taken to facilitate the introduction of the scheme, subject to Parliamentary approval.
