UR. G. W. CHOATE, recently retired yr from B.R.S. (Contracts) Ltd, fictoria Park branch, was presented With . gold bar for 43 years' safe driving, at . ceremony at B.R.S. S.E. district offices in Tuesday. Making the presentation, elr. C. N. Christensen. managing direecit, paid tribute to Mr. Choate and to even other drivers With from 22 to 38 ears' safe-driving records.
Congratulations on a remarkable ecord were added by Brig. R. F. E. ttoney, director-genera! of the Royal tociety for the Prevention of Accidents. /rivers Choate and Oram (British Railsays) were the first to get the 40-year ward, he said. Eleven drivers had now cached this target, but only two were iithin reach of the 43-year distinction. He hoped that many of the 262,000 riyers entered for the award scheme /mild gain long-service safe-driving wards, despite the hazards presented by icreasing traffic congestion.
