Blackpool Owners Join With C.M.U.A.

We learn that Blackpool Motor Coach Owners Association has decided to affiliate with the C.M.U.A. for the year 1936-37, P.S.V. OWNERS SEEK RELIEF Alleviation of the legislative burdens placed on passenger operators was demanded at a C.M.U.A. NorthWestern Division meeting at Preston, last week. Mr. P. Harper, divisional chairman, presided and the speakers were Mr. J. L. Kinder and Mr. F. A. Walker.

It was proposed to formulate a policy dealing with the matter and to consider how that policy could be applied to the North Western Area, also to form a central committee of representatives from all associations and affiliated bodies in the division, so as to coordinate views.

It was made clear that the committee and its work would not overlap present association and area work in any way. Unanimous support was given to the principle by those present and the matter was referred to constituent bodies for discussion.

Later there was a meeting of hauliers, who passed resolutions demanding amendment of the 1933 Act.
