That was the message from Transport Under Secretary Reginald Eyre when he visited a weight check at Dover Eastern Docks, Mr Eyre saw a dynamic weighbridge in operation designed to check the weight of vehicles entering this country and commented: "Overloaded lorries can damage our roads. Overloading is unfair to law abiding hauliers and we want to put a stop to it."

Mr Eyre went on to say that extra resources are being put into the nationwide vehicle checking system.
