THE HAWK'S award for the British Prevaricator of the Year — a 15ft liquorice statue of Galtieri — goes to Ian Scott, of the National Union of Public Employees. I shall ask Alan Meecham, managing director of Pritchard Industrial Services, one of the cleansing contractors to Wandsworth Borough Council whose vehicles have been sabotaged in an industrial
dispute, to present it to him.
After five of Pritchard's reful vehicles simultaneously caugi fire in a yard and, among othe things, a road sweeper had be attacked and injured, Ian Scott commented: "I find all these allegations of violence and intimidation a little hard to believe."
What further evidence does expect? A nuclear war?
