He served with the Royal Air Force from 1946 until 1977, finishing as a Squadron Leader responsible for fighter ground attack and fighter reconnaissance. He spent the last five years with the Engineering Industries Association. RHA executive officer BEN McGUIRE has succeeded head of communications DEREK WITCHER as secretary of the highways and traffic committee.

BOB TURNER has joined Edbro (Holdings), the tipping-gear maker of Bolton, as marketing director. He came into the industry in 1950 when he joined Ford as a management trainee. He spent 18 years with them, mainly on tractive sales and marketing, and moved to British Leyland as tractive marketing manager in 1968. His last position with the company was as director of the medium/light lorry division.
