• Plans for recruiting trained drivers into the road haulage industry from all three HM forces may be put into effect if a pilot scheme to be carried out by the Road Haulage Association and the Royal Corps of Transport is successful. From June onwards the RCT will supply the RHA with details of drivers to be released. Men wishing to become civilian drivers will complete a simple application form stating the class of hgv driving licence held and the town or area where they would like to be employed. Members will arrange their own interviews with candidates.
