I N a 20-ton semi-trailer body built by T. Coleburn and Sons, Ltd., Liverpool, a constant temperature can be maintained at anything from zero degrees F. The design is such that there is little variation even after the doors have been opened.

The Dyson semi-trailer, which forms the basis, is approximately 30 ft. long. The body is in two sections, each of 600 Cu. ft. capacity. The refrigeration machinery, which is housed in a compartment at the forward end, includes an internal-combustion engine with starter, condensers arid an electric motor with its own 230-volt generator.

This plant is mounted on a .subframe provided with vibration dampers. and flexible connections are used for coupling up. Onazote is used for insulation purposes, and weight has been saved by adopting the directexpansion, forced-air method of refrigeration.

The refrigeration plant was installed with the co-operation of L. Sterne and Co., Ltd., Liverpool, and the vehicle is for use in Sumatra.
