LI Transport Executive, it was provisionally estimated on Wednesday, carried 2m. people into and away from the Coronation area on June 2. &total of 44,000 bus journeys to the special terminals was made.
Services commenced at 3 a.m. on June 2. The outward flow of traffic rose to a high peak soon after the flypast and again after the fireworks dis play, but nearly everybody had been evacuated by 1 a.m.
