Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE SKILL LEVELS of current drivers is questionable already (‘Operators need to work to stop driver shortage,’ CM 14 June) – after all, that’s why the Driver CPC was created.

Most CV drivers are overconfident in their abilities. Add to that the threat of constant persecution for simply doing your job, then try to think why the transport industry isn’t appealing to others.

My company is profitable and has a great future ahead. But we are limiting our future growth as we have little faith in any of the organisations or agencies who try to ‘control’ our business.

Their only interest is in awarding ‘gold stars’ or ‘gold standards’ and other meaningless certificates to adults who are already more than capable of doing their jobs properly.
