Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• DEB, the skincare and cleaning chemicals manufacturer, has warned that despite the introduction of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations, many workers are still at risk.

Dermatological experts estimate that more than 20% of small businesses do not know what COSHH is, let alone conform to them. There is further confusion because employers now expect products to comply with COSHH when they do not, says Deb.

"Deb has taken steps to ensure that employers stay on the right side of the law by introducing new product labels which conform to COSHH." says general manager, Malcolm Adams.

The company has produced a free COSFIFI survey and booklet explaining the law, and it has set up a helpline for those requiring more information on (0773) 822712.
