STOCKHOLM AT A STANDSTILL

• The four-lane motorway bridge across the Sodertalje Canal at SOdertalje, 30km south of Stockholm, is closed for repairs until autumn. The work will effectively cut Stockholm off from the south and west of Sweden. Traffic will be re-routed through the town of Sodertalje and congestion is expected, particularly on Friday and Saturday afternoons/evenings.

Coaches and trucks heading for Stockholm on the E3 (from Goteborg) or E4 (from HoIsingborg) are advised to take the following detours if travelling at peak times:

D From Gothenborg: E3 as usual to Arboga, the E18 via Koping, Vasteras and Enkoping, arriving in Stockholm from the west-north-west, and vice versa when leaving Stockholm for Goteborg.

U From Helsingborg: E4 as usual to Norrkoping, then national road 55 via Katrincholm, Flen, Malmkoping and Strangnas to Enkoping, then E18 arriving in Stockholm from the west-north-west.
