las reserved decision on a bid by Lancashire fuel distributors Samuel Cooke & Company for a depot in South Yorkshire, pending a visit to the company's proposed operating centre.
The Padiham-based company had applied for a new three-vehicle licence based at Majestic Transport Yard, Station Road, Darton, Barnsley. The application attracted environmental objections from Neville Calker and his wife Patricia Cawthorne.
Callier said there were already firms operating coaches and lorries from the site, run by Malcolm Cawthorne. They suffered from noise, fumes and smoke, and they were often woken in the early hours.
