Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Yorkshire-based Rickaby & Lee plans to extend its market from its core business of DIY distribution, as part of a fouryear programme.

It is looking at contract distribution.of temperaturecontrolled goods, wines and spirits and also tobacco. And in the next three years it aims to increase its contract distribution work from 25 to 40%. Most of the contracts will be large accounts, which will generate at least U50,000 revenue a year, says financial director Peter Gledhill.

"Contract distribution provides a quick growth rate, because it is less resourceintensive and because usually it means utilising other people's businesses," he says.

About Lim is being injected into the firm's expansion plans, which include adding two depots to its headquarters at Bradford and satellite depot in Hartlebury. It is looking for sites in the South-East, particularly around Cambridgeshire and also near Glasgow, which it hopes to be operating in about 18 months.

Rickaby & Lee plans to almost double its fleet of 70 existing vehicles to around 130 in three years. And it will increase the number of drivers on the payroll from 70 in line with this expansion.

Although the company does not plan to expand on to the Continent, it hopes to win warehousing business from German and French DIY manufacturers, importing into Britain. And its 26,0000 warehousing space will be increased with this demand.
