Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The most powerful Leyland 6x2 Rnadtrain tractive unit in the UK — the 254kW(340hp) Perkins Eaglepowered 20.34 — is now available.

The 3.45m wheelbase 20.34 will initially only be offered with a high-datum T45 sleeper cab, although Leyland may fit a day cab if there is sufficient operator demand.

Kerbweight for the chargecooled and turbocharged 20.34 is 7,160kg, which Leyland claims compares favourably with similar 6x2 models offered by OAF, Renault and ERF. Maximum torque on the 12-litre Eagle engine is 1,390Nm(1,021 lbft).

Leyland first hinted it would be bringing in the 254kW Li Eagle-engined 6x2 Roadtrain last November at the Scottish show. Price for the 20.34, which has a Spicer SST 1410' ten-speed gearbox as standard, is 240,950 plus VAT.

7 The extra lightweight 20.29 6x2 Roadtrain — announced at the Scottish Show — is now also generally available. Sold in either day or sleeper cab form, the 20.29 has the 216kW(290hp) Cummins LTA10 290 engine.

Leyland fits all 20.29 models with alloy air tanks and an alloy clutch housing as well as the premium rather than high-datum T45 cab to keep its kerbweight down, compared with the more powerful 239kW(320hp) 20.32 model.

Price for the day cab 20.29, which has a kerbweight of 6,600kg, is 27,300, while the 6,770kg kerbweight sleeper cab version costs £38,300.
