• A new Ro/Lo ferry, purpose-built to operate between King's Lynn and the port of Hamburg, completed her maiden voyage last week. She is the 2,550 dwt my Alster RaPid, built by J.J. She joins the my Helm Stahl (1,580 dwt) on the thrice weekly service which Washbay Line has operated for the past 20 years.
Principal traffic are Skoda cars from Czechoslovakia, plus containers, caravans, steel, agricultural equipment and general cargo.
UK agent for the line is Lynn Ferries (telephone 0553-763231).
