Fresh teams for new NBC firms

• Tony Kennan and John Fickling have been appointed commercial manager and chief engineer, respectively, to the new NBC company which will take over the Northumbrian operations of United Automobile Services by September 1.
Kennan is United's present commercial manager, while Fickling is currently chief engineer with East Midland.
Leonard Bell is to take over as company secretary and chief accountant (and finance director designate) of Crosville Wales, another NBC subsidiary, which will take over the Welsh operations of Crosvale Motor Services also by September 1, Ted Green will be Crosville Wales's fleet engineer, and Steve Green will take over as financial controller.
The newly-formed Ribble (South West) company — another NBC subsidiary — has Michael Chambers as its secretary/financial director designate, Robert Gregory as its new traffic manager, and Geoffrey Corser as its new fleet engineer.
Finally, London Country Bus (South East) has appointed Brian Martin as its finance director and company secretary, Geoffrey Hempstead as assistant traffic manager and Stephen Maw as assistant chief engineer.
All three will be based at the company's headquarters, the location of which has yet to be finalised.
• Transport Secretary John Moore, has appointed Christopher Campbell as a full-time executive member of the board of the National Bus Company. He will lead negotiations for the privatisation of NBC subsidiaries.
Campbell is a chartered accountant and has extensive experience in the retail business, including credit finance and property management. He joined the Debenham Group in 1966, and from 1984 until February this year was financial executive and special adviser to the chairman of Debenhams.
