• Portugal's ministry of transport has introduced new limits on weights and dimensions of commercial vehicles as part of a programme of harmonisation with EEC regulations for road transport.
Vehicles must not exceed 4m in height or 2.5m in width. Maximum truck length has been fixed at 12m with 15.5m for tractive unitJsemi-trailer combinations and 18m for drawbar trailers. Maximum gross vehicle weight for twoaxle trucks has been set at 19 tonnes.
