Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DOES anyone know a driver who has lost a dog?

A white collie bitch with a black patch over one eye has been found by one of our readers.

Mr M. F. Wheeler tells me: ''l know this dog is a driver's mate as it appeared one morning under my unit, very bedraggled and nervous. Unfortunately its name tag is missing.

"I opened my cab door, told the dog to jump up. It did so, went straight over to the passenger seat and sat as only hgv dogs do. It has been with me on trips and knows the routine of lay-bys and unloading. I feel the clog has been adrift for quite a while."

Pass the word around: unfortunately Mr Wheeler feels that he cannot keep the dog too long at home.

The dog may have been lost on the 438 between Bridgwater and Minehead. Mr Wheeler's home, The Cottage, Steart Nay, Bridgwater, Somerset (phone 0278 652617) is nine miles outside Bridgwater, and on the coast of the Bristol Channel.
