THE Transport Act's road servicing licence provisions are to be brought into effect from October 6.
Announcing this in the Commons, Norman Fowler, the Transport Minister, reminded MPs that this would mean that licences would no longer be required for long-distance services and would be easier to obtain for stage carriage ones.
He added that apart from the abolition of conductor licensing at the end of July, the rest of the measure's licensing provisions would come into force next spring.
