E. M. WILCOX Ltd, the Peterborough bodybuilder, has introduced a range of smaller tipper bodies to suit vehicles from 3.5 to 16 tonnes gvw.

Complementing the existing Wilcox range of monocoques, blowers, dropside and dualpurpose vehicles in the higher weight categories, the new bodies are aimed at jobbing builders, builders' merchants and other operators looking for a small tipper.

One of the first of the new series to be built is on aluminium alloy unit with a capacity of 2cum (2.6cuyci). Fitted to a Dodge 50-Series 6.6-tonne-gvw chassis, it has 2.7m (9ft)-long sides which are 0.45m (1.5ft) high and are single dropside.

At the rear it has a top-hinge double-action tailgate and tipping is by means of Edbro 1 LH gear. A second aluminium alloy body, fitted to a 3.5-tonne-gvw Transit chassis, has been supplied to a local builder's merchant by P. M. Trucks of Peterborough.
